Answers: Week # 5

1). How can we know the Fatherhood of God by the Holy Spirit?

The Old Testament longing of God the father to be in an intimate father-son relationship with his people, whom he blesses and who love him and obey him, is fulfilled in the New Testament, through the work of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, creating a new people with a new spirit, relating to God as their Abba. This is how we know Him through the Holy Spirit.

2). What do it mean by a “new mind?

The Holy Spirit is required because this word “renewal” in Romans 12:2) is only used one other place in all the Greek Bible, namely, (Titus 3:3) where Paul says this: “[God] saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.” It means to be changed in our way of thinking.

3). Let’s Read (II Corinthians 5:17).

Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Been born-again by His Spirit!!

4). What is our tool to defeat negative thoughts?

Our tools to defeat the negative thinking is PRAYER, PRAISE & The Word of God!

5). How can we live with the mind of Christ?

We must equip ourselves for the battle. When we hold on to God’s Word and think right thoughts, we are able to not only fight, but win the battle in our minds, and live unto Him, who is our Lord and Savior.

6). How do we defeat the devil?

Not by Might, but by the Spirit, and our best aids to freedom is asking God for a lot of help – and asking often! This is done through prayers

7). How do we fight our invisible foe?

That’s the word, “PRAYER!” We do not fight him because Jesus has already won that battle for us. We just have to pray and trust Him to help in times of need, amen.

8). What is negative power?

Negative words are negative power!!! It is a danger to complain all the time. Complaining, grumbling, murmuring and faultfinding have power – but it is negative power. Each time we give our minds and mouths over to any of it, we are giving Satan power over us that God has not authorized him to have. Amen!

9). Let’s Read (Philippians 2:13-15).

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputing’s:

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.

10). Let’s Read again Romans chapter 8.

11). How do the Spirit of God lead?

The Spirit leads us because we are the children of God and through His Word the Spirit can lead us. He leads us through our spirit that has been born-again by Him, The Holy Spirit. He communicates with us through our spirit.

12). What is the Spirit called in (Romans 8:14-15)?

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” It is called the Spirit of adoption.

14). What does it mean to walk in the Spirit?

This phrase means to live each moment in dependency on the Holy Spirit, sensitive to His voice, and obedient to Him. As we go through each day, we should be aware of the presence of the Holy Spirit with us. We should be totally submitted to Him.

15). When you think of the Holy Spirit, what image come to mind?

The image of God that is expressed in His Word, such as love, joy, and peace. That is how I think of Him, and I think of Him as my Comforter, my Keeper, My protector, and my Guide.

16). Let’s Reread (II Corinthians 5:17).

Very good reading! Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” We have a new mind in Christ Jesus, and we must cultivate it through the Word for it to becomes the Christlike mind, then and only then can we war off the enemy, just as Jesus did when He was on this earth. And that is through walking in the Spirit of God.

17). What spiritual gifts has the Holy Spirit given you?

Discernment of spirits, diverse kinds of tongues to pray in the spirit for others.

18). How are you using these gifts to glorify our heavenly Father and further His kingdom?

Whenever the Holy Spirit prompt me and the other person receive it.

19). How does the Holy Spirit help us to distinguish between good and evil?

By giving me the interpretation of God’s Word and by moving in my spirit.

20). How does the Holy Spirit help us to distinguish between clarity and confusion?

The Holy Spirit will not leave us in confusion but will reveal the truthtous. He illuminates the dark areas of our lives to give us a clear vision of God’s purpose for us, and this is through God’s Word.

21). How does the Holy Spirit help us to distinguish between truth and fiction?

This is through God’s Word. “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12). God has proven to us that His Word is the only truth and will stand forever.
